Winter Tire Changeover
We swap your tires for winter tires before the snow and back again in the spring, and we can store your off-season set.
Winter tires grip better than all-season tires once it gets cold. Their rubber stays soft in freezing weather, and their tread is cut to bite into snow and slush. Most tire makers suggest switching when the temperature stays below about 45 degrees.
When to switch
Plan your changeover before the first real snow, which in Fargo often comes in October or early November. Tire shops get busy once the first storm hits, so earlier is easier. Switch back in the spring, since winter tires wear faster on warm, dry roads.
What we do
- Swap your tires, or mount and balance them on your wheels
- Check the air pressure and tread on every tire
- Store your off-season tires here at the shop, so you don't have to haul them home
- Help you pick a new set of winter tires if yours are worn
Walk-ins are welcome for tire work. Want more grip on ice? Ask about tire siping.
